'Report Heresy' - Artica Empire Print
"REPORT HERESY. DOUBT IS THE FIRST SIN."
This proclamation was issued by the Holy Inquisition of the Artica Empire during the 11th Age - a reminder to the faithful that loyalty was not merely expected, but enforced. A lone holy knight stands before the flickering flames of a cathedral interior, arms crossed, helm bearing the sign of the cross. He does not speak. He does not need to. His presence alone is the message: we are watching.
While "Service is Salvation" called citizens to serve the Empire's legions, this proclamation served the Church's darker purpose. It encouraged neighbors to report neighbors, children to report parents, and congregations to purge themselves of doubt before the Inquisition did it for them. The Ministry of Descent designed it to inspire fear disguised as faith.
The original was created using the now-lost Chromatic Process, an alchemical technique that fixed vivid pigments so deeply they would not fade even after centuries. When the Empire fell during the Scouring of the 12th Age, most proclamations were destroyed by those who overthrew the regime - eager to erase its memory from history.
Today, original Artica proclamations are exceedingly rare. Those that survived did so in forgotten vaults, sealed tombs, and the private collections of scholars who understood that history, even dark history, must be preserved. This reproduction is one of three faithful recreations restored from fragments held in private collections across the realms.
A chilling artifact of a fallen regime - a reminder that those who demand absolute faith often deserve none. Hang it in thy game room, den, or streaming sanctum as a piece of dark fantasy worldbuilding, a conversation starter, or a grim warning from history that never was.
